The Vision, Mission and Process of CCT
Christian Churches Together (CCT) has been a positive and significant model of relationship-building across divides in the United States for nearly twenty years. Since its inception, CCT has brought together Catholic, Orthodox, Historic Black, Mainline Protestant, Pentecostal, and Evangelical Christians to share life together through worship, prayer, and theological dialogue, and to receive from each other the gift of difference through Receptive Ecumenism.
One of the distinctive characteristics of CCT is its intentional commitment to loving across difference, learning across traditions, and leading together in faithful witness. Through this shared life, diverse Christians—from historic denominations to charismatic movements, from immigrant churches to megachurches—come together in a unique and holy way to bear witness to the reconciling love of Jesus.
These charisms—loving, learning, and leading—shape every aspect of CCT’s common life. CCT brings together the diversity of Christian churches and organizations in the U.S. to foster loving relationships, deepen learning across traditions, and lead together in witness to the reconciling power of Jesus. Through these practices, participants commit to discerning together and taking shared steps toward the Beloved Community.
