CCT’s Method of Receptive Ecumenism

Receptive Ecumenism

Receptive Ecumenism is central to the life of Christian Churches Together. As one of CCT’s shared practices, it shapes how we learn across traditions and lead together in faithful witness. It invites participants to recognize their own needs in ecumenical encounter and to begin not by offering, but by receiving—listening for the gifts of other traditions and discerning how they may enrich our own.

“Preparing Our Hearts”:

CCT’s devotional guide on Receptive Ecumenism

At Christian Churches Together, every conversation is shaped by the practice of Receptive Ecumenism—a way of listening deeply and learning from one another across traditions. To help prepare participants for the annual Forum, CCT provides a 5-day devotional guide with Scripture, reflection, and prayer prompts. This guide can be used in a variety of settings to prepare people for ecumenical encounter.
