Christian Churches Together in the USA invites students, seminarians and young leaders for a day of observation and conversation during its 2009 gathering (January 13-16). This is a unique opportunity to observe and participate in significant discussions leading to discernment regarding next steps in CCT’s poverty initiative.

Please submit Registration Form by December 5, 2008.

Please arrive at The Conference Center at the Maritime Institute (CCMIT) having had breakfast. Free parking is available on campus. CCMIT offers a FREE shuttle service to/from the Baltimore - Washington International (BWI) Airport, the BWI Amtrak Station, and the BWI Light Rail Station.

9:00 a.m.   Plenary Session
   1. CCT’s Approach
   2. The Context: Poverty Today
   3. CCT as Convener
   4. Plenary discussion and questions
 
10:30 a.m.   How can we, as CCT leaders, be more effective in leading our churches to embrace our goal of ending poverty?
 
10:45 a.m.   Break
 
11:00 a.m.   Small group discussion on above question
 
Noon   Lunch
 
1:30 p.m.   Plenary introducing afternoon process
 
1:45 p.m.   Three Tracks:
   1. Making Work Work
   2. Strengthening Families/Communities
   3. Improving Education
 
3:00 p.m.   Break
 
3:15 p.m.   Three Tracks (continued)
 
4:30 p.m.   Family Groups meet together to review the work in the Three Tracks
 
6:00 p.m.   Dinner (Seminarians dine together and share fellowship and reflections on the day)
 
7:00 p.m.   Plenary: Reports from Tracks, Decisions
 
8:30 p.m.   Closing Prayer
 
9:00 p.m.   Departure
