Highlights
CCT encounters Luke 4:18: “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me,
because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor”
Each of the 5 faith families will offer
any further insights or questions about evangelism they have growing
out of the presentations of the last annual meeting (see
these seven documents) and we will begin to shape a common
plan for CCT in this regard.
Seminarians Day – Wednesday, January
9
Students from seminaries and schools of religion in the greater
Baltimore-Washington D.C. area and beyond are invited to be present
on Wednesday for a day of discussion and discernment of CCT’s
strategy regarding our domestic poverty initiative. There will be
opportunity to respond to presentations and for interaction with
church leaders. Registration for students is free, but is required.

CCT Poverty Initiatives
At this meeting, CCT will be taking the next steps in its effort
to address the scandal of poverty in the United States. The 2006
Atlanta meeting affirmed that “a commitment to overcome poverty is
central to the mission of the church and essential to our unity in
Christ.” Now is decision time: what uniquely can CCT do to make a
difference on this issue? A proposal for action will be shaped and
affirmed at the meeting. |
